16 June 2026 Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries
The Healing Arts Scotland Dumfries & Galloway programme will feature interactive sessions, discussions, performances and presentations - giving voice to people with lived experience, spotlighting impactful local work and highlighting potential cross-sector opportunities.
The Healing Arts Scotland Dumfries & Galloway Day is hosted by OutPost Arts and will take place on Tuesday 16th June. This collaborative regional gathering brings together artists, health professionals, community groups and the wider public.
The main event will be a conference held at the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries. The programme includes panel discussions, Q&As, keynote and spotlight speakers, alongside creative wellbeing activities connected to the three themes of HAS 2026.
As part of the D&G Day, OutPost Arts has commissioned regional artists to contribute.
Jim Buchanan will create a land art project activating the Mountainhall and Crichton estate greenspaces, inviting participants to engage with nature through walking, reflection and creative practice. Jim will share this work as part of a spotlight session at the conference.
Heather Bestel is delivering Magical Meditations for Kids, a creative wellbeing project combining music, storytelling and art to support children and young people. Heather is sharing a series of accessible creative mindfulness resources for parents, carers, educators and youth leaders to use in their own settings.
Following the conference, there will be a special evening celebration event featuring a musical performance. The event is produced by Arts D&G and Paragon in association with Loch Arthur Community, with support from OutPost Arts.
The day creates space for sharing practice, exploring innovation and highlighting how creative approaches can support health and wellbeing across Dumfries & Galloway.
