Friday 19th June
6.00-10.00pm: Screening of 'Behind the Scenes, The UK Waacking Documentary', and Panel Talk
The Social Hub, 15 Candleriggs, G1 1TQ (accessible venue)
Attendees came along to learn about the stories of the UK waacking/whacking scene (Directed by Angelika Napierala and Daniel Glenn-Barbour), followed by a discussion with Angelika Napierala, Dorine Mugisha (Founder of Whacking Scotland) and guests.
10.30 - 2.00am, Dive Into the Groove Club Night (18+)
Stereo Glasgow, 22 Renfield Ln, G2 5AR (a lot of stairs, 18+)
In the spirit of celebrating the history of whacking/punking, which originated in the underground gay clubs, the weekender kicked off with a boogie at Stereo, featuring some amazing Scotland based DJ's.
Saturday 20th June
11:00 - 4.00pm, Community nature trip to Loch Lomond.
6:00 - 10:00pm sharp, Whacking Battle! 1v1
The Marlborough, 26 Langside Ave, G41 2QS
Guests attended as spectators, or entered the battles - the day was an opportunity to express, exchange, connect and create beautiful memories.
